CONSTRUCTION WORKS: ACCESS RAMP AT WEST DEAN (SOUTH)

The construction works for the new access ramp at West Dean will be undertaken over a five week period from January 26 2024. Edburton the contractor are mobilising to site January 29th and the Centurion Way permissive path will be closed temporarily until 1^st March in West Dean. Temporary Closure Notices are erected adjacent to the works site and also on the Centurion Way at Binderton Bridge, advising of the alternate routes to/from West Dean, via Bridleway 457 & 455 or the paved path adjacent to the A286 (see attached).

Whilst we apologise for any temporary inconvenience, we look forward to providing the new access ramp which will provide a permanent ‘at grade’ connection to the highly popular Centurion Way path, that will particularly benefit the less agile; users with mobility scooters; push/wheel chairs; and cyclists.

CONSTRUCTION WORKS ANNOUNCEMENT

• Friday 26^th January - Site set-up
• Works period 5 weeks Monday 29^th January – Friday 1^st March
• Selection of Construction Drawings attached
• Temporary Path Closure Notices erected on works area boundary, and at Binderton Bridge advising of alternate route options (see attached)
• Local stakeholder groups advised of TPC and works
• Access and deliveries to site via A286 and not Motor Road
• Access gate from A286 to remain locked at all times and only opened per delivery
• Material and plant deliveries (few in number) to avoid school drop-off / collection times
• Additional herras panels with debris netting, 1.8m high, to be affixed to, and above the school boundary fence to create 3m+ high screen of the site from adjacent pre-school cabin and yard area (fixing points adjacent to concrete posts)
• Where possible, significant excavation works (eg tree roots) close to the boundary, to be programmed for empty periods of the pre-school cabin and yard area. Note: Pre-school children have free access to cabin courtyard. Lunchtime 12-13:00 (cabin empty), day ends at 14:30
• WD School closed for half term from Friday 9^th Feb pm – Monday 19^th am
