Lavant Parish Council are appealing the list of proposed EV chargepoints, which does not include Lavant as a site for installation. In order to appeal this list and have Lavant considered as a location, we need as many residents to request Lavant as a site for installation of an electric vehicle chargepoint.

Please read the below information from WSCC and click the link at the bottom of the article to register your opinion.

Thank you.

What is the West Sussex chargepoint network?

West Sussex County Council, Adur District Council, Worthing Borough Council, Arun District Council, Crawley Borough Council, Horsham District Council, Chichester District Council and Mid Sussex District Council have signed a contract with Connected Kerb, one of the country’s leading providers of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions.

The contract will see chargepoints installed across the county at zero cost to the councils.

We are proposing chargepoints in your area.

The future is electric. In 2030, a ban on the sales of new petrol and diesel vehicles comes into force. EV sales increased by 40% in 2022, with more than one in ten new vehicles being electric. This has highlighted the importance of having enough affordable, reliable and hassle-free charging infrastructure for the many, not the few.

Although it may not be a priority for you right now, we want to give you and your community the confidence to make the switch when the time is right for you.

We’re not proposing to change any of the parking restrictions at the moment, so other cars will still be able to park as before, although we hope people will be considerate & allow EV drivers to charge. Any future change to parking restrictions would go through the normal consultation process.

We would like your feedback.

We’ve already received around 1,500 requests for chargepoints in West Sussex and your feedback is vital to help us build a charging network that benefits everybody.

Whilst we cannot guarantee that an EV Chargepoint will be installed in the location suggested, it will help us establish demand and refine our plans.

We are specifically asking for feedback from people over the age of 15 years.
